If you love to ride twisties, this motorcycle adventure between Himalayan ranges from east of Bhutan to the west is perfect for you. Our winding roads start off from subtropical grounds and takes you through bamboo forests to black mountains and beautiful views of rolling rice fields. The tour also has a cultural touch with stops to visit monuments, museuems, and historical sites.

Day 1: Samdrup Jongkhar

Highlights

 

AM/PM: Arrive at Samdrup Jonkar Border Gate from Gauwahati Airport. After immigration formalities, check-into hotel & assign motorbikes

GAU Airport - SJ: 98km (2hrs)

Day 2: Trashigang

Highlights

 

M: Start riding with views of countryside along bamboo forests. Stop by Dewathan, a historical battle ground
PM: Stop by Khaling institute of the disabled & check into hotel

SJ - Tashigang: 180km (5-6hrs)

Day 3: Mongar

Highlights

 

AM: Depart for a short ride to Mongar today.
PM: Arrive for lunch at hotel, Mongar Dzong and local farm house to see wine being brewed from corn

Tashigang - Mongar: 90km (3hrs)

Day 4: Bumthang

Highlights

 

AM: Leave behind bamboo and semi-tropical climate and into a cool temperate by crossing highest motorable pass (3,800m)
PM: Visit Meybar Tsho lake on route, Kurjey Lhakhang, & Jambay Lhakhang

Mongar - Bumthang: 190km (5hrs)

Day 5: Phobjikha

Highlights

 

AM: Ride past Chummey valley that is wide with farmalands, through a forest of rhododendrons & magnolias up PelelaPass(3,300m)
PM: Ride down to a beautiful view of Phobjikha valley, visit Gangtey Monastery, relax

Bumthang - Phobjikha: 162km (5hrs)

Day 6: Punakha

Highlights

 

AM: Drive through black mountains and descend to Punakha. Visit Chimmi Lhakhang (temple of fertility) on route
PM: Lunch, Punakha Dzong, Longest Suspension bridge, free time

Phobjikha - Punakha: 78kms (2.5hrs)

Day 7: Thimphu

Highlights

 

AM: (Optional River Rafting in the morning) Ride to DochuLa pass (3,100m) and descend to Thimphu
PM: Traditional School of Arts and Craft, National Library, Folk Heritage Museum, Tashichhodzong

Punakha - Thimphu: 74km (2hrs)

Day 8: Thimphu

AM: Kuenselphodrang (largest statue of Buddha), Memorial Chorten, Takin Zoo, Textile Museum, Craft Bazaar
PM:Free time

Punakha - Paro: 115kms (3hrs)

Day 9: Paro

Full Day: Tigers Nest Hike himphu - Paro: 62kms (1.5hrs)

Day 10 Paro

Highlights

 

AM: Free morning for spa/relax, pack, and stroll around town.
PM: Visit Kyichu Lhakhang (oldest temple) to bid farewell, local beer brewery
